Welcome all to
TYKE-TACTICS
Tyke-Tactics is a dynamic and engaging junior program designed to introduce young recruits to the essentials of real-world self-defense through the structured and exciting framework of combat sports. This program provides a unique blend of physical training and life skill development, ensuring that every child not only learns how to protect themselves but also builds a foundation of strength, agility, and confidence.
We understand that young students need an environment that balances both challenge and enjoyment, which is why Tyke-Tactics prioritizes safety and fun while maintaining a disciplined, goal-oriented structure. Through carefully crafted exercises and interactive drills, children learn practical techniques that are directly applicable to real-life situations, helping them navigate the world with greater awareness and self-assurance. Whether it’s mastering tumbling and mobility or learning effective ways to defend themselves, recruits are encouraged to explore their physical capabilities in a supportive, non-intimidating atmosphere.
The curriculum is designed to promote not only physical growth but also emotional resilience and mental toughness. By working together in teams and individually challenging themselves, young warriors learn how to manage stress, solve problems, and cooperate with others—essential skills that extend beyond the dojo and into their daily lives. Tyke-Tactics helps children develop the discipline, focus, and confidence needed to thrive in all areas of life, both on and off the mat.
HONOR AND ACHIEVEMENT MEDALS
The progress of each young recruit is celebrated through our unique Honor and Achievement Medals system, which rewards both personal growth and martial prowess. These medals are designed to motivate students, creating a sense of accomplishment and purpose throughout their journey.
Achievement Medals recognize specific milestones and skill mastery, inspired by game-based learning theory. Like leveling up in a video game, these medals mark significant achievements along a recruit’s path, from perfecting self-defense techniques to demonstrating leadership and responsibility in group settings. They reflect not only the physical capabilities of the student but also their dedication to personal development and teamwork.
Honor Medals, on the other hand, are reserved for exceptional displays of courage, discipline, and overall excellence in training. Modeled after traditional military commendations, these medals carry a sense of prestige and signify a higher level of commitment and mastery. They are awarded to students who have gone above and beyond, embodying the values of perseverance, integrity, and protection that are at the heart of our training philosophy.
Together, the Honor and Achievement Medals serve as both recognition of a student’s progress and as a tool for continued motivation, encouraging recruits to strive for greater challenges and growth. Each medal becomes a proud symbol of the hard work, discipline, and skills they have acquired, inspiring them to continue their journey with even greater determination.

Self-Defense:
At the heart of the Tyke-Tactics program is self-defense training. Young recruits are taught the fundamentals of protecting themselves in a safe, controlled environment. The focus is on building confidence, situational awareness, and learning how to react appropriately in various scenarios. Through fun drills and hands-on practice, children gain the skills needed to stay safe while developing mental toughness and emotional resilience.
Field Training Exercises (FTX):
Designed to simulate real-world scenarios, Field Training Exercises (FTX) bring an exciting and interactive outdoor element to the training. Recruits apply what they’ve learned in dynamic settings, testing their skills in navigation, teamwork, and adaptability. These exercises help children develop problem-solving abilities and confidence in applying their knowledge beyond the training floor.
Aerobatics (Acrobatics + Mobility):
The combination of acrobatics and mobility training ensures that young warriors develop not only strength but also flexibility and body awareness. Through fun, energetic movements, children enhance their balance, coordination, and agility, laying the foundation for advanced martial arts techniques. The creative nature of this training encourages self-expression while improving overall physical fitness and mobility.
Scrimmages:
Scrimmages introduce a friendly and competitive environment where young warriors can practice sparring in a safe and structured way. These sessions allow children to test their techniques against each other, promoting strategic thinking and the ability to adapt to different opponents. Scrimmages help develop resilience, quick decision-making, and a spirit of healthy competition, all while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
